Date and Nut Brownies

Ingredients
  • 125 g butter
  • 100 g dark chocolate, chopped
  • 3/4 cup caster sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • ¾ cup self raising flour
  • ¼ cup plain flour
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup pitted and chopped dates
  • 1/3 cup chopped nuts

Method

  1. Preheat over to 180 C (350 F).
  2. Line 8 inch square pan with paper and brush with melted butter.
  3. Melt butter and chocolate in the microwave, sirring until smooth.
  4. Add sugar and stir until almost dissolved.
  5. Add eggs, beat.
  6. Fold in flour, cocoa powder, dates, nuts.
  7. Pour into tin and bake for 35 mins or until a knife inserted comes out clean.
  8. Cool in tin and then cut in squares.
