Tandoori Baked Chicken

Ingredients

A1: 600-700 gms chicken breasts (4 medium sized breasts)
A2: 6 tbsp (heaped) plain yoghurt
A3: 2 tsp (heaped) sambar powder
A4: 1 tsp haldi (turmeric)
A5: 0.5 tsp red chilli powder
A6: 1 tsp jeera powder (cumin powder)
A7: 1 tsp garam masala powder
A8: 1 tsp sugar
A9: 1 tsp salt
A10: 2 tbsp oil
A11: Juice of ½ a Lemon/Lime

Method
1. A items: (10 minutes)
Mix all A ingredients in an oven dish; cover and marinate for at least 4 hours in a fridge (preferably overnight)

2. Baking/Grilling process (80 minutes)
Pre-heat oven to 225 C
Bake for 40 minutes covered.
Uncover after 40 minutes.
Bake/grill for another 20 minutes checking often to see whether the gravy has dried out and the chicken has charred slightly at the top.
Turn over all chicken breasts and bake/grill for another 20 minutes or less depending on how much gravy is left.
It is cooked when the gravy becomes thick and the chicken is well browned.

3. Serving Instructions
Serve on a pita bread or as an accompaniment to daal-rice.
