Glazed Almond Bundt Cake

Cake Ingredients
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 1.5 tsp almond extract
  • 1.5 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup ground almonds
  • 1 cup milk

Cake Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
  2. Grease and flour a 10 inch Bundt pan.
  3. Mix together the flour, baking powder, salt and ground almonds. Set aside.
  4. In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the almond extract and vanilla.
  6. Beat in the flour mixture alternately with 1 cup milk until well mixed.
  7. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 50 to 55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean.
  9. Cool for 10 minutes and invert on a wire rack. Cool 10 minutes longer. Place rack on waxed paper.

Glaze Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup milk
  • 0.75 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 tsp almond extract
  • 0.5 cup toasted sliced almonds

Glaze Method

  1. Combine milk, sugar, almond extract and toasted sliced almonds
  2. Pour over warm cake.
